PATIO UPDATE

This week has been all about making decisions, getting organized, and getting orders in. Thank goodness there are an extra two weeks for this ORC since my patio paint is on backorder until mid-June! It should come in before the last week of the challenge, so I should have just enough time to finish the project and let it dry for 48 hours before I put all the furnishings in place. There are so many great sales right now I am trying to hit up since I don’t feel comfortable doing the Facebook Marketplace and thrifting thing with COVID restrictions in Maryland. So I am working through it and reworking my plans to make sense for the timeline & the budget and I am happy to report I am still stoked about what I am finding. In other news, we found a friend to take the patio bar that came with the house… so the patio looks huge now with barely any furniture on it. The hubs also started transplanting azalea bushes to different garden beds so we have room to make a firepit area. The fun has definitely begun! I am looking forward to making some serious progress this weekend on the patio extension. We will be framing in the new firepit in this area and placing a sail shade above it potentially. We are still deciding if we are going to do concrete or stone for this patio extension or something else. I am already loving how open the back yard is feeling without all the bushes blocking our view and it will shortly become a more useful space to make smores and memories with the family. Yay & Yum!

Here’s our plan for now… It’s a super general plan so chances are it will look very different in the end. I tend to change my mind 100 times when it comes to my own home. It’s funny how easy it is to crank out designs for others but when it comes to my home, narrowing down choices takes a considerable amount of time. I go through a bit of analysis paralysis at times since there are so many options but I just have to keep reminding myself that I can always sell it if it really doesn’t work and find something that does! So I am giving myself this week to get more decisive of odds and ends so I can score some goodies in time for Memorial Day weekend sales. This patio is a fun place to play and create and I am excited for the coming week’s progress to see how everything unfolds!
