Week 7 of the One Room Challenge has been a productive one. The #GreatOakReno has been rocking & rolling. The Doors in the Living Room and Dining Room were lifted up to make room for the new floor. If you have been following along, we found out early in the demo process that we would need to have a step down into the living and dining room from the newly opened kitchen or we would need to bulk up the floors, redo the stairs, and lift the doors. Also, there was a pantry to contend with that will be on the wall between the Kitchen and Dining room that would have had a step in the middle of it so we went with the more comprehensive fix. Now everything is leveled out. I will be sharing more about this on INSTAGRAM (follow along by clicking here).

The Family Room is the room that I am getting ready to reveal this week and I am PUMPED! Here are some sneak-peek sketchy renders that shows off the general plan! This rooms is getting a serious upgrade!

  1. The old dingy carpet was removed and our stunning Revel Woods floors were installed along with new baseboards.
  2. A fresh coat of paint covered the old mural, the mismatched brick wall, and I even added a new color on the ceiling.
  3. Some new furniture & décor, as well as a brand-new layout, will increase seating and make the room function better as an office, playroom, and media room.
  4. New top-down bottom-up woven wood window shades, will let the light in during the day and still provide privacy at night as well as lots of rich texture.

Looking forward to sharing the real deal with you this week! It’s the final countdown friends! Thanks for all the support!
