If you’re new here, this space is part of the incredible One Room Challenge – a whirlwind of creativity where designers turn ordinary rooms into extraordinary dreamscapes. Eight weeks of stunning reveals await, so buckle up and get ready to be wowed! Speaking of wow-worthy, a special shout-out to Apartment Therapy, the fabulous media sponsor for this season. Being featured by them is a dream, and it’s adding serious fuel to my “glow-up” fire for this bathroom!

This week I managed to get to painting the bathroom and that included painting the raw edge hex tile backsplash with a wee paint brush since I didn’t think to paint it prior to having the tile installed. The first round of painting this 56″ edge took 45 minutes!

The color I went with is called Heaven on Earth by Benjamin Moore, that (& hot tip) I grabbed from Home Depot. So if you are looking for a Sherwin Williams color, Benjamin Moore, or even Farrow & Ball you can have them mixed at Home Depot. I use Behr Paint & Primer Premium Plus. It’s low odor, low VOC and under $40 for a full gallon! For this project I went with a satin sheen so the whole bathroom isn’t too shiney and reflective. I did paint the square wall tiles in this space with a white gloss, so the satin feels more balanced for a light and airy look for the top portion of the kid’s bathroom walls.

Another item that was checked off the list this week were grabbing my custom remnant quartzite threshold from the stoneyard. My old house has some weird layers and this is one of them, requiring a 1 1/4 inch thick threshold. I am so glad I found an affordable and speedy solution at my local stone yard. It’s beveled to perfection and a really stunning transition from my hallway maple hardwoods (by Revel Woods) to my bathroom hex tile.

My handyman, Josimar, also came back to finish installing the slatted vanity, Lura wide spread brushed bronze sink faucets by Speakman (gifted), sconce, and caulked the edge of the hex backsplash with Sashco’s amazing color matching caulk, eXact Color Sealant (gifted) and caulked the vanity to the wall with their anti molding Clean Seal Caulk (gifted).

Join me next week, home-lovers, FOR THE FINAL REVEAL WEEK! You will get to see the entire design finally come to life, dreamy wallpapered ceiling and all! Below is the design and final checklist.
