A Wedding Keepsake that Doubles as Wall Decor
This project was long overdue! After a trip up to my mom’s house last month I had to clean out one of my old closets that I have been using to store items that didn’t fit into the many different apartments I’ve lived in prior to owning a home. During this spring clean out, I found my pressed wedding flowers that I said I was going to use in my wedding scrapbook but… I haven’t gotten around to making a scrapbook… yet. So, here we are, 7.5 years later and I happen to have these gorgeous hexagon floating frames lying around ready for action! Less than an hour later I have a gorgeous keepsake that is beautiful, one-of-a-kind, and romantic. If you have a wedding coming up press your flowers! There are a million ways to make gorgeous and meaningful art out of your wedding decor so that they live on forever and not just for the day! See below for the simple tools I used to make these…
All you need for this project is…
1: Frame
2: Pressed Flowers
3: Light Hand
4: Microfiber Cloth
5: Scissors
6: Scotch Mounting Tabs
Start by cleaning the frame, with your microfiber cloth, then make a layout of your florals on the frame- note try to touch the flowers as little as possible. You are bound to break a few so do the planning with already damaged flowers that are similar to your favorite more pristine flowers. Save the good ones for when you’re done your layout and ready to stick them to the frame. Using the Scotch Mounting Tabs was awesome since you can cut them into tiny pieces and they are completely invisible, so the flowers appear to be floating. Last step is to gently and carefullt wipe down the frame for fingerprints and close the frame. Congrats, you now have a stunning and sentimental wedding keepsake to decorate your walls with! It also makes for a romantic gift to your spouse or anniversary present!
Now I just need to find a home for these beauties on one of my many walls! Thanks for stopping by and you can always drop by my Instagram for updates. Happy Creating! – Kelly
